Our friends at RackSpace tech support have introduced us to a great site/tool that allows you to check the performance of a site/page. Give Alertra SpotCheck a url, and it will access it from sever of its servers from around the world. After a few seconds the results display the load times and rates from around the world. This is very handy for checking the status of things.
Remember, just because a website is slow for you, doesn’t mean it is slow for everyone else. Performance of a site can be dictated by your connection just as much as it can by the actual web server.
